What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Cookies
From the visitor, we mainly store cookies. A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website. Every time the user loads the website, the browser sends the cookie back to the server to notify the website of the user’s previous activity.
Some cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of online stores. Thanks to these for example you do not need to add items you want to purchase to the shopping cart each time you navigate throughout the site (thanks to a cookie, a shopping cart knows that you are still the same visitor and maintains your products added in the cart), other cookies allow the owner of the webpage to see where his visits come from, the time they remain on his website, recording which pages were visited by the user, etc.
Cookies are stored by your internet browser on your computer’s hard disc and occupy only a very small amount of space so that they do not affect the proper functioning of your computer. They do not contain personal information and they get self-destructed when they have fulfilled the function for which they were programmed for.
Due to its widespread use, the majority of web browsers accept them automatically without asking the user’s consent. From your internet browser you can block all cookies generated by Syntix NV or any other page, but remember that if you do so, some pages could start to function incorrectly.
